Pump controls
Controls decide when the pump starts and stops and protect it from running without water. The right switch or controller extends the pump’s life and keeps the pressure in the house steady.
- Pressure switches — the classic choice for a system with a pressure tank: they start the pump when pressure drops and stop it once it builds up.
- Flow controllers (such as GWS PumpWave) — start the pump as soon as a tap opens, stop it when no water is needed and protect it from dry running.
- Pressure gauges — to see the pressure and set up the system correctly.
We show how to set the cut-in and cut-out pressure in “Adjusting a pressure switch”.
